Vegetable Tom Yam


What you need to have are 1 cube of tom yam paste from Maggee, 3 lemon grass, cauliflowers, 1 carrot, 2 tomatoes, 3 small chillies, onions and garlic and 1 1/2 cup of water. Saute garlic and onion,add tom yam cub, add water then finally all go the vegetables. Serve hot.

kerabu perut/ tripe salad

Kerabu perut is a dish made of from some mangoes, chillies and the main ingredient is the tripe (the cow's stomach). For Malays, this is one of the lauk you can cook and can be eaten with rice. 

Ingredients
  1. 1/2 kilos of  tripe
  2.  1 mango
  3. 5 small chillies
  4. 1 onion
  5. 1 lemon grass
  6. salt 
  7. sugar
  8. one hand-full dried prawn 
Procedure:
  1. boil tripe until tender. Sieve it and put aside
  2. boil prawn for a while.  Sieve it and put aside
  3. slice thinly ingredients 2-5
  4. in a bowl, mix ingredients in step 1 and 2 
  5. add salt and sugar 
  6. mix them all well and serve it

Dadih/ Curdled milk with Mango Flavour

This also tastes nice. The last containers filled with it was eaten by Kak Chik's children. Anyway, I bought 2 more after that.

Telur Bungkus

Bahan2:
  1. 2 biji telur (didadar)
  2. 2 keping daging lembu burger Ramply (dihancurkun)
  3. 1 labu bawang besar – dihiris
  4. 1 ulas bawang putih – dihiris
  5. 1 sudu makan cili boh/ cili giling
  6. 2 sudu makan sos cili
  7. 2 sudu makan sos tomato
  8. 1 batang karot 
  9. Sedikit sayuran campur
  10. Sedikit minyak dan air
  11. Sedikit gula dan garam secukup rasa
Cara penyediaan:
  1. Panaskan minyak. Tumiskan bahan-bahan hirisan sehingga garing dan naik wangi.
  2. Masukkan air, karot yg telah dipotong dadu, cili boh/ giling, sos cili, sos tomato dan daging burger.
  3. Didihkan sebentar. Masukkan garam secukup rasa
  4. Masukkan inti tadi ke atas telur dadar dan bungkus (ini memerlukan latihan...)

Bubur lambuk


I prepare this before going to Kak Chik's house in Chini, Pekan. Since the actual ingredients (eg. pucuk paku and other ulaman) are not available, I use what I buy in the market. This is how we cook bubur lambuk in Pahang. There are a lot of versions of preparing the bubur lambuk. If you were to eat this in Perak, I think they use prawn. But in this recipe, only fish are used. In ramadhan, this is always the menu that almost any muslim house will be preparing. Lets take a look at the ingredients and how to prepare one.

Ingredients
  1. 1/2 cup of rice 
  2. 3-5 cup of water
  3. 2 cup of santan  (that you've already add with 1 cup of water).
  4. 6 long beans (cut into small pieces)
  5. 3 brinjal/ egg plant 
  6. 20 water Spinach (also known as Water Morning Glory, Water Convolvulus, or by the more ambiguous names "Chinese spinach" and "swamp cabbage". Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipomoea_aquatica)
  7. water to cook the porridge
  8. 1/2 to 1 kg of fish (I use ikan pelaling) 
Preparation procedures:
 
  1. Boil the fish for about 10 minutes. Toast the water and put it aside 
  2. Debone the fish 
  3. In a blender, put the fish. Blend it well.(Click here if you want to know to what extent you need to blend the fish)
  4. Put the mixture in a bowl. Put it aside.
  5. In a pot, put the rice (of course u need to wash it first)
  6. Add in water 
  7. When the rice is soft (or it has become porridge [I assume you know how to cook porridge ;-)], add santan
  8.  Add the fish
  9. Add the vege. (Use this procedure of adding them. First, add in egg plant. Then water spinach) 
There you have it... easy. Follow this procedure, insyaAllah I suppose you won't be disappointed)

Bread with cooking rice topping

I use the mixture to bake bread which I posted earlier. I just decorate it with cooking rice.

Fried meat with black pepper


A simple dish to cook for dinner/lunch. I use plenty of onions ..for decoration and they can also be eaten. Here's the ingredients and how to cook the dish.

Ingredients:
  1. 1 kilo of meat 
  2. 1/2 green capsicum/bell pepper (slice thinly)
  3.  1/2 red capsicum/bell pepper (slice thinly)
  4. 2 onions (slice)
  5. 5 garlic (slice)  
  6. 2 tbsp of black pepper sauce 
  7. oil for frying 

Cooking procedure:
  1. To make the meat tender, slice it into small pieces and boil it first. Then set it aside
  2. In a wok, pour oil 
  3. Then add the meat. Let it for a while. Just enough to mix the meat with the oil. Don't cook for too long at this stage because you've already did when boiling it 
  4. Then saute the garlic and onion in the wok
  5. Add black pepper sauce 
  6. Add capsicums 

Dadih/ Curdled milk with Strawberry Flavour

Since the curdled milk is pink, I choose green for the background. Suka2...


Here's another curdled milk I made after I did the first one. I like this one better since it is not that sweet compared to the previous I made.  

Fried noodles with seafood


Ingredients:
  1. 1 packet of yellow me 
  2. 1/2 kg of squid 
  3. 2 tbsp chillies sauce
  4. 3 tbsp grind chillies 
  5. 4 tbsp soy sauce ketchup 
  6. salt 
  7. oil for frying 
  8. 1 onion
  9. 1 garlic
  10. red chillies and limes/sweet lime(limau kasturi)/kaffir lime/limau purut)
Procedures:
  1. In a wok, pour a little bit oil 
  2. Saute garlic and red onion
  3. Add in squid
  4. Add in yellow mee
  5. Add in grind chillies. let it fry for a while
  6. Then add in chilli sauce, soy sauce and salt
  7. Add in salt
  8. Mix and stir these ingredients. Fry for 10 minutes or so 
  9. Turn off the stove
  10. For garnishing, put red chillies on top of the noodles. Also, cut limes into four. Put a slice on the noodle. Easy, eh?

sambal belacan nenas

Ari tu ada nenas manis kat rumah, jadi sediakan sambal ni utk dicicah dgn mentimun. Cara penyediaan sama dgn resepi yg sebelum ini, cuma tambahkan saja nenas yg diracik kecil2. Rujuk cara penyediaanya utk sambal kuinin.

Dadih/ Curdled milk with Lychee Flavour

One of the tupperware containers..colding it. You may also put it in the refrigerator. 


I got 2 tupperware containers, two square containers and one small containers from a plastic of dadih

Just a matter of decoration... prunes 

The preparation of making the curdled milk is really simple. Why? Because you just need to follow the instructions of how to prepare one as they are printed on the plastic. My kids really love this and they can even finish one tupperware container when serve this to them.
Ingredients:
  1. 3000 ml litre water
  2. 100gms of sugar 
  3. 400 gm of curdle milk powder (I think it is that much. I use the whole of it)
  4. fruit syrup (that is already packed in the plastic on the plastic bag)
  5. 400 ml of evaporated milk (equals to 1 large tin)
 Preparation procedures:
  1. Pour water into a pot
  2. Add in sugar
  3. Turn off the heat once water is already boiling 
  4. Then straight away pour the curdle milk's powder
  5. Pour the mixture into a container. 
  6. Let it cold for a while before putting it in the refrigerator



Ketam masak lemak

 Ketam yg digunakan utk masak menu ni. Dah seminggu beli 


 Nenas manis yg digunakan. RM3.00 sebiji


 Masak lemak ketam utk hubby ngap...

Sy tak makan sgt seafood sejak dua menjak ni atas faktor kesihatan. Tapi disebabkan ada 2 ekor ketam ni kat rumah, I need to think of sth utk "habiskan" menda alah ni. So, fikir punyer fikir, takpe biar hubby makan. And paling best kalau ketam tu dimasak lemak. Dan sy suka letak nenas utk memaniskan menu ni. Jom siasat camner utk sediakannya.

Bahan2
  1. 2 ekor ketam
  2. 1 biji nenas (potong nipis cara memanjang)
  3. 1 biji kelapa diambil santannya 
  4. garam 
  5. 2-3 inci kunyit hidup (kurang sedap jika guna kunyit serbuk). Dah rasa perbezaan kedua2nya dlm masakan. So, sy rekemen guna kunyit hidup utk masak lemak
  6. 5 biji cili kecil (kalau nak pedas lagi tambahkan jer)
  7. 3 btg serai (lbh banyak pun bagus...aromanyer lbh memikat
Cara penyediaan 
  1. Dalam kuali, masukkan ketam. Biarkan air ketam tu kering (jgn biar sampai hangit ketam tu)
  2. Masukkan santan, cili, kunyit dan serai
  3. Masukkan ketam 
  4. Masukkan garam 
  5. Agak2 ketam dah hampir masak, masukkan nenas. Dah siap
Utk masak ketam ni, jgn dibiarkan ianya dimasak terlalu lama..seafood kurang enak kalau masak lama sgt. Hilang manisnyer. And satu lg TAK PERLU MASUKKAN ASAM GELUGOR. Nanti hilang kemanisan nenas tu pula.

Bread with sausage and fried egg fillers

Another easy to prepare breakfast/ light dinner. Here's the recipe...

Ingredients
  1. 3 sausage bread
  2. 2 eggs 
  3. 3 sausages
  4. mayonnaise (quantity as u like) 
  5. white pepper powder
  6. oil for frying 
  7. some salt
Procedures 
  1. In wok, pour oil 
  2. Add in eggs that you've beaten and stir earlier 
  3. Use a spoon/ spatula to mix stir the eggs. Turn off the heat when the eggs turn are cooked.
  4. Slice the sausage
  5. In a bowl, mix eggs, sausage, pepper powder, salt n mayonnaise 
  6. Then, slice the breads only half 
  7. Fill them with the mixture in no. 5

Fried potatoes with black pepper sauce n Sohon soup

Ini masakan yg amik apa yg tinggal didlm fridge utk habiskan stok barang makanan dlm bulan lepas. Ada kentang, hati, karot (yg dah layu) dan sedikit daging. Ada juga sohon yang berbaki. Mari tgk apa yg boleh dibuat dgn bahan2 ni.

Fried potatoes with black pepper sauce

Bahan2
  1. 1/2 batang karot 
  2. 2 biji kentang 
  3. 3 sdb sauce black pepper (I use Sarawak black pepper sauce available in Giant supermarket)
  4. minyak utk menggoreng
  5. onion and garlic (the quantity is as as you wish)
  6. sedikit hati ayam 
  7. 1/2 kg daging lembu
Cara penyediaan:
  1. Potong kentang dan karot cara memanjang (lihat foto). Yet, it depends on you of how you want to slice these veg. 
  2. Boil the chicken liver and the meat. Slice thinly. Set aside
  3. In a wok, saute garlic and onion 
  4. Add black pepper sauce
  5. Add the chicken liver and the meat u've boiled earlier
  6. Turn off the heat once all the ingredients are all mixed
Sohun Soup

Ingredients

  1. 1 handful sohon 
  2. 1/2 handful pepper
  3. onion and garlic
  4. 1 cup of water 
  5. oil for cooking 
Procedures:
  1. In a wok, pour in the oil to saute the onion and garlic 
  2. Add water
  3. Add sohon 
  4. turn-off the heat
Simple aren't they?

Fried Ladies Finger with Dried Fish

This is a menu I prepared for dinner. In order to save time in preparing the dish, you need to boil the ladies fingers first. Hence, you just need a couple of minutes to fry the lady finger.
 
Ingredients
  1. 15 ladies finger 
  2. 5 chillies (small ones)
  3. 1 onion 
  4. 2 garlic 
  5. 2-6 inches of belacan (shrimp paste)
  6. oil for cooking 
  7. water to boil the lady fingers
Procedure
  1. Boil the lady fingers. Toast it and set aside
  2. Mash onion, garlic and belacan (use lesung batu i.e. mortar and pestle)
  3. In a wok, add oil 
  4. Saute onion, garlic, chillies and belacan
  5. In 3 minutes or so turn off the heat
  6. You may eat the dish together with porridge or rice. Serve it hot.

Hati Goreng Kicap

Resepi ni sama dgn resepi yg disediakan utk masak Meat with soybean sauce.  Sudi2 kan mencubanyer! Instead of using meat, you use liver. However, you need to boil the liver until tender..use asam gelugor utk buangkan bau hati lembu tuh..

Fried Macaroni with Meat

Here's another simple recipe. The cooking procedure is also the same to cooking Fried Pasta with Meat. However, you just need to add soya bean sauce (for approximately 6 tbsp.) and daun sup for the dish. By the way, pinggan dlm ni nampak comot sbb masa ni tgh suapkan 6 mulut... my sons and Kak Chik's two kids. Makan cam anak burung depa tu... Sbb penat main computer game. Do try it!

Fried Pasta with Meat

Here's a breakfast and lunch for last week. I cooked lunch quite late and hence, the kids eat this first. Selain dr masak pasta gunakan cheese atau sbgnya, I think it is also tasty if we were to cook it using the ingredients that we usually use to cook mee hoon goreng (fried mee hoon). Anyway, jom tgk resepi nyer:

Bahan2:
  1. 1 cup of pasta (boil it first and set aside)
  2.  1/2 kg of meat (boil it until tender)
  3. 5 tbsp of chilli sauce
  4. 2 tbsp of blended chilli
  5. salt 
  6. onion and garlic 
  7. a bit of oil for frying/ cooking 
Cooking procedures:
  1. Saute the onion and garlic 
  2. Then add the blended chilli
  3. Add the meat
  4. Add the pasta
  5. Put some salt and chilli sauce 
  6. Turn off the stove

cekodok udang

Cekodok udang is  a simple dish for breakfast or afternoon tea for many Malay households. Lets take a look at the ingredients and how to prepare it.

Ingredients:
  1. 2 cups of flour 
  2. 1 cup of prawn 
  3. 1/2 carrot (since i have small kids, i don't use chilli like other recipe. Objective is to attract them to eat vegetable
  4. 6 tbsp of HOT (i meant this: the purpose is to ensure the tenderness of the cekodok) water
  5. 1/2 cup of water 
  6. salt 
  7. oil for frying
Procedures
  1. Slice carrot (cubes)
  2. In a bowl, put the flour, salt, carrot, HOT water then only water (from the tap) 
  3. Stir them. If the mixture is too hard, add water. Contrarily, add flour when it's u think it's too watery (x think of a better word)
  4. Add prawns 
  5. Use your hands to take the mixture in a small quantity and onto the wok it goes for frying

egg sausage roll

A very simple breakfast/ lunch/ snack to prepare. You just need: 

  1. 2 sausages (of any kind. I use beef)
  2. 6 eggs (3 eggs for one sausage). It's luxurious kinda egg sausage roll we're making
  3. a little bit of mayonnaise, thousand island and chilli sauce
Preparation Procedures:
  1. Beat eggs. Stir using fork
  2. In a wok,  pour the eggs that you've stirred gently on the wok (use small heat to ease u in frying the eggs)
  3. Once the eggs are ready, let it cold for a while 
  4. Then put bread that you've already put sausage into it (slice the bread for about i.e 3/4 of it needs to be sliced so that you'll be able to put the sausage)
  5. Cover the bread with the eggs 
  6. Cut the bread into 3 
  7. Press thousand island, mayonnaise and chilli sauce from their bottles 
  8. There you have it!

roasted chicken with tumeric and lemon grass

I cooked roasted chicken while my husband went for Solat Jumaat. He was back from school at 12 sth. I didn't plan to cook the roasted chicken and therefore I didn't marinate it. My husband complain for the delay in preparing lunch for him. Hence, he only requested to eat egg sausage roll. After 10 mins or so the chicken was ready to be eaten.  Anyway, here's the ingredients and cooking procedures.

Ingredients:
  1. 1/2 chiken 
  2. 2 lemon grass
  3. 2 tumeric (big ones) 
  4. 5 small onions 
  5. 2 garlic
  6. salt and sugar 
Cooking Procedures:
  1. Blend lemon grass and garlic 
  2. Also add sugar and salt in the blender 
  3. Apply the mixture to the chicken
  4. I use tupperchef (from Tupperware) to roast the chicken. But i assume if you were to roast the chicken in a microwave, the temperature is already set for you. Using tupperchef, I took 30 mins. (small heat) to roast the chicken.
